Jordan Clarkson ran out of words as frustrations grew bigger in the aftermath of Gilas Pilipinas' fourth straight loss in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Thursday night, Aug. 31.

The Nationals couldn't finish a spirited fightback in the final frame and dropped an 87-68 loss to South Sudan to kiss their Olympic dream goodbye in front of an equally disappointed crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Tough one again, I feel like I’m coming back saying the same thing, it's a tough game, we’re playing hard, [we] fight, that’s all I can say,” Clarkson said.
Obviously disheartened, Clarkson still appreciated the effort of the team.
“They’re making shots, we made an adjustment, the reason why we started coming back in the game, they made another adjustment and then finished the game out,” he said.
“Trying to figure out what to do, just didn’t get it done,” Clarkson added.
The Utah Jazz guard has been anchoring Gilas in its World Cup stint, averaging 24 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
Against the Sudanese, Clarkson had 24 points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Nationals will face China on Saturday, Sept. 2, for their final World Cup assignment.
