“Mike Enriquez's passion, dedication, and unrelenting pursuit of the truth have left an indelible mark on journalism and have enriched the discourse in our nation,” Herrera said in a statement Friday, Sept. 1
“We acknowledge his remarkable contributions to the Fourth Estate, his exceptional ability to hold power accountable, and his tireless efforts to ensure that the public was well-informed on matters of significance,” the lady solon added of Enriquez.
Herrera highlighted Enriquez's lifelong commitment to upholding truth, fairness, and integrity in journalism, cementing his reputation as a highly regarded figure in the media landscape and earning the respect and admiration of numerous colleagues, friends, and viewers.
She also underscored how Enriquez's unyielding dedication to uncovering impactful stories, regardless of the obstacles he encountered, positioned him as a source of inspiration for aspiring journalists and media professionals elsewhere.
Enriquez, 71, died on Aug. 29 following an extended illness. His illustrious career in news and entertainment spanned 54 years.
The House of Representatives has 311 members.
