The Department of Health (DOH) reported 138 new infections nationwide on Aug. 31, making the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country 4,110,343.

There were no new records of death due to Covid-19, according to DOH.
Based on the DOH Covid-19 Tracker, there were 86 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,040,991.
DOH data also showed that there are 2,865 active cases in the country.
In connection with this, DOH reminded the public not to be complacent about the Covid-19 threat.
DOH emphasized that the public should continue to adhere to the minimum health standards.
The public was also urged to continue wearing well-fitting facemasks and to stay in well-ventilated areas.
Those who have symptoms, DOH said, should isolate immediately.
DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible for added protection. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
