2 Boholanos feted for board exam feats

CEBU CITY – Cash incentives were given to two Boholanos who landed in the Top 10 in the occupational therapist and civil engineering licensure examinations.

Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado and Vice Gov. Victor Balite recognized the recent achievements of Crisnico Peligrino and Judy Marie Samson.

Samson, a graduate of Velez College in Cebu City, ranked fifth in the Occupational Therapist Licensure Examination while Peligrino, a graduate of the Bohol Island State University, finished ninth in the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination.

Samson had an 83 percent rating. The examination, which was given last June, was topped by Nadine Frances Yap Reyes of the University of the Philippines-Manila with a 85.40 percent rating.

Peligrino hurdled last April’s civil engineering board examination with an 89.35 percent rating.

Samson received P75,000 while Peligrino got P50,000.

“We want to congratulate Samson and Peligrino for their achievements and we want to thank them for giving honor to our province,” Aumentado said.

Samson’s mother, Gladives, and Peligrino’s mother, Ronita, received the cash incentives from Aumentado and Balite in behalf of the two board topnotchers.

Aumentado said the giving of cash incentives to Boholano achievers is covered by Provincial Ordinance No. 2023-001.

“The giving of cash incentives is our way of inspiring our constituents to excel in licensure examinations,” the governor said.
