Wesmincom awards honest soldier


ILIGAN CITY – The Western Mindanao Command awarded a soldier for returning a wallet he found in a military hospital here last month.

Private First Class Jaypee Algabre found the wallet containing P13,000 while walking at Camp Navarro General Hospital on July 19.

Algabre searched for the owner of the wallet and was able to locate him, a Western Mindanao Command-Foreign Liaison Elements from the Special Operations Task Force 511.2 (SOTF 511.2).

For his good dead, Algabre was awarded the Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal.

Westmincom chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido said Algabre’s display of moral uprightness is worthy of emulation.

“His honesty gained not only our admiration but that of our foreign counterpart as well. He made the whole Armed Forces proud with his deed,” said Galido of Algabre from the 54th Engineer Brigade based in Barangay Cabatangan, this city.
