Village dad nabbed for operating drug den

COTABATO CITY – Police arrested on Tuesday, August 9, a barangay councilor for operating a drug den in Pandag, Maguindanao del Sur.

Christian Frivaldo, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, identified the suspect as Arcus Dingdong Banto, councilor of Barangay Upper Siling, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur.

PDEA agents backed by policemen and soldiers swooped down on Banto’s drug den in Barangay Kabuling which also resulted in the arrest of 14 drug den customers.

Seized from them were 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P70,000 and six motorcycles.

Authorities said Banto was listed as a high-value target.

Suspects are detained at the PDEA regional office detention facility here.
