Geely Cars adds a fifth model to its lineup to compete in a hotly contested segment, the small crossover. This new model is the GX3 Pro, a competitively-priced, yet well-equipped crossover. The GX3 Pro will serve as Geely’s new entry-level model. It’s smaller than the Coolray SUV but still boasts of quite the ground clearance to make it practical for a lot of destinations.

The GX3 Pro features looks similar to the Emgrand sedan with similar light and grille designs. An LED strip serving as a foglamp sits below, recessed into an intake. Towards the side, its window graphic distinctly dips down and inclines as it goes toward the rear. It rolls on 16-inch wheels that have a distinct tuner look, which will likely please those whose typical first upgrade is the wheels. It gets round tail lamps behind and a rear diffuser on the bumper.

Powering the GX3 Pro is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with dual variable valve timing (DVVT). It produces 102-PS  and 142-Nm of torque. It comes with a choice of five-speed manual or a CVT with 8 simulated gears. The CVT also comes with a built-in Sport Mode.

Inside, the features a sleek dashboard that shows twin gauge cluster and 3.5-inch multi-info display between them. There’s an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display in the center. It comes with AM/FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as smartphone mirroring via the CarbitLink software.

Opt for the top-of-the-line variant and you’ll be rewarded with options like leather seats with contrast stitching, a push-button start, electronic air-conditioning, a six-speaker sound system, and a power sunroof.

The GX3 Pro isn’t short on safety either as all variants get dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, a reverse camera with dynamic guide lines, rear parking sensors, and a low tire pressure warning light. Exclusive to the CVT variant are traction and stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and cruise control.
