ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo has been given an important task in the House of Representatives.

During plenary session Wednesday, Aug. 9, Tulfo was elected as a deputy majority leader.

The motion, made by Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos, received no objections and was thus swiftly carried.

His position as deputy majority leader places Tulfo within the powerful Committee on Rules.

Tulfo, a former secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), is also a popular broadcast journalist.

He first took his seat as congressman only last July 24, the day of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s first State of the Nation Address (SONA).

ACT-CIS led all party-lists during the May 2022 elections.

Aside from Tulfo, Isabela 2nd district Rep. Christopher Go was also installed as deputy majority leader through Marcos' motion.

Meanwhile, Ilocos Sur 1st district Rep. Ronald Singson, Cebu 6th district Rep. Daphne Lagon, and Cavite 7th district Rep. Crispin Diego Remulla were named new assistant majority leaders.
