BUTUAN CITY – The Regional Development Council (RDC) officially presented the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 at the LMX Convention Center here on Wednesday, August 9.

The launching was participated in by all partners and stakeholders from all levels of government, private sector, non-government organizations, the academe, media, and the youth.
Presented were key features of the plan, particularly the region’s new development strategy, to Industrialize and Innovate Fishery, Agro-forestry, Mining, and Ecotourism (i2FAME), to contribute to the attainment of the country’s long-term vision of a “Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay para sa Lahat,” and laying down the foundation for sustained economic transformation, recovery, and creation of green and decent jobs on the regional level.
RDC Chairperson and Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) Gov. Nilo P. Demerey Jr. spearheaded the event along with local chief executives and legislators in the five provinces and six cities in the Caraga region and heads of different line agencies of the government.
Representatives from different sectors expressed their full support toward the attainment of the region’s goals, objectives, and strategic directions as enshrined in the RDP.
Towards the end of the event, participants were guided by designated lead agency and RDP chapter writers through a “Gallery Walk” which showcased the Caraga RDP 2023-2028 chapters and the i2FAME strategy.
The gallery walk ended at the wall of commitment where messages of support from partners and stakeholders were displayed.
The launching was simultaneously aired via Zoom and streamed via Facebook Live with the assistance of the regional staff and personnel of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Caraga led by Director Venus L. Garcia.
