An Angkas rider and his passenger were seriously injured after colliding with an SUV in Barangay Maytunas, San Juan City on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
According to the Eastern Police District (EPD), the Angkas rider and his passenger were cruising northbound along Wilson St. when a silver Hyundai Tucson being driven by a 70-year-old woman traveling westbound along L. Gruet St. suddenly veered left before reaching the intersection of the two streets, hitting the right side of the motorcycle.
The impact caused the rider and his passenger to be flung from the motorcycle and violently slammed on the pavement.
Both victims were immediately rushed to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) where the rider's leg had to be amputated while his passenger, who sustained a fracture in her thigh, will have to undergo a procedure to prop up her thigh with metal.
