2 dead in Mandaluyong accident


Two persons were killed after they were hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in Barangay Ilaya, Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, Aug. 9, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.

The police identified the victims as Randy Manalac, 52; and Regean Ramos, 32.

According to the police report, the two victims were resting at the right wing of Madison St. when a speeding Mitsubishi Montero being driven by John Marwin Gambalan hit Manalac and Ramos.

Due to the force of the impact, Manalac was violently pinned against the concrete resulting in his immediate death. Ramos, on the other hand, was rushed to the Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) for treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Gambalan is now under the custody of the police and is facing charges for Violation of ART 365  or Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Multiple Homicide
