The Manila Police District (MDP) arrested two brothers after robbing a woman in Barangay 479, Sampaloc, Manila, on Wednesday morning, August 9.
The MPD-Sampaloc Police Station (PS-4) identified the suspects as Jester Abaigar, 20, and Jimbert Abaigar, 24, both residents of West Fairview, Quezon City.
According to the 35-year-old victim, she was walking westbound on España Boulevard at around 2 a.m., when she noticed the two suspects following her.
The suspects approached her near the footbridge of Dos Castillas Street.
One of the suspects pointed his knife at the victim while the other took her mobile phone.
Police said the suspects fled toward Loyola Street.
The victim immediately asked for assistance from the roving policemen in the area.
The authorities responded and managed to arrest the two suspects.
Recovered from the suspects were the mobile phone of the victim and a stainless steel tactical folding knife.
The suspects were brought to the Ospital ng Sampaloc for a medico-legal examination and will face charges for robbery with intimidation.
