Ice Seguerra recalls moment he asked Martin Dino's blessing to marry his daughter Liza

Musician-actor Ice Seguerra took a trip down memory lane when he asked permission from former Department of Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Martin Dino to marry his daughter former Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Dino-Seguerra.

"I remember our conversation when I asked you if you would allow me to marry your daughter; you readily said yes and that you were happy because you knew that I would take good care of Liza and Amara. Thank you for trusting me," said Ice, in his post in honor of Martin who passed on following a battle with cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Ice sent a message to Martin to pass on his greetings to his late father.

"Thank you so much, Papa Martin, for accepting and embracing me as one of your own. Please say hi to my dad ngayong magkasama na kayo," he added.

"Matagal ka rin lumaban, Papa. Lumaban para sa bayan, para sa mga anak mo, at sa cancer. Pero ngayon, pwedeng pwede ka na magpahinga. I love you, papa!"

(You fought for a long time, Papa. Fight for the country, for your children, and for cancer. But now, you can rest. I love you, dad!)

Ice and Liza got married in San Francisco, USA on Dec. 8, 2014.
