Cagayan sustains P1-B damage from ‘Egay’


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – This province sustained more than P1 billion in damage from typhoon “Egay.”

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said damage to agriculture was pegged at P928,818,787, infrastructure, P862,300,000, and livestock, P15,058,960 million.

Cagayan had 21,643 and 1,222 partially and totally damaged houses affecting 61,899 families.

Egay displaced 204,510 individuals from 27 municipalities in the province.

The province declared a state of calamity due to Egay and the provincial government continues to distribute relief goods to typhoon victims.
