ILOILO CITY – Police Regional Office-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor has condemned the policeman who fired a gun in front of three civilians in this city.
“We will not tolerate this kind of attitude within our ranks,” said Villaflor, two days after Police Staff Sgt. Nico F. Galvesolo allegedly wielded and fired his service firearm on 21-year-old Kevin Lee Jaboneta, 20-year-old Joel Zepeda, and 19-year-old Joshua Celiz.
“If evidence warrants, we will file the appropriate charges – both criminal and administrative,” Villaflor added. “I am very meticulous when it comes to implementing our internal cleansing, not only in drugs but in all aspects of our police service.”
Villaflor reiterated that the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) led by Police Col. Joeresty Coronica must conduct a thorough investigation.
Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, reminded her colleagues that there are guidelines on proper decorum and responsibility in handling service firearms.
