When you think of timepieces, it is always the sleek ones with straps made of metal or leather and a round shape. It is hard to find a good one in a different form. But it looks like one brand taking a brave step as it introduces a timepiece collection exploring the square shape.

Recently, Swatch unveiled its newest line, “Bioceramic What If?,” presenting pieces in square case. In celebration of the brand’s 40th anniversary, the collection merges the traditional with the new.
According to Highsnobiety, the timepieces feature “ a 33mm x 33mm case made of Swatch's ultra-tough Bioceramic material (with crown and buckle to match), unique ‘biosourced’ strap, retro battery covers in homage to Swatch's classic Gent watch, and edge-to-edge glass across their square faces.”
As the brand says, the “What If?” collection is inspired by its first prototypes and “a playful nod to an alternative and fun reality.”
Swatch’s “Bioceramic What If?” pieces come in beige, black, gray, and green, and are now available for pre-order.
