The Department of Health (DOH) reported 977 new Covid-19 infections from July 31 to Aug. 6, with a daily average case count of 140, marking a 25 percent decrease from the previous week's tally.

From this number, DOH said that 11 are in severe and critical condition.
Thirty-four individuals succumbed to the disease within this timeframe, and 12 of them were recorded from July 24 to Aug. 6.
Meanwhile, 315 severe and critical Covid-19 patients are admitted to hospitals as of Sunday.
The health department advised that 209 (12.1 percent) out of 1,733 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds reserved for Covid-19 patients are occupied, while 2,556 (15.9 percent) out of 16,098 non-ICU beds are also in use.
Moreover, 78 million Filipinos, or 100.44 percent of the target population, are already vaccinated, while 23 million individuals have received booster shots.
Additionally, 7.1 million senior citizens have received their primary series.
