Groups conduct relief operations in flooded Bulacan villages

Camaraderie and care characterized the relief operations conducted by several organizations in flooded villages in the province of Bulacan on Monday. August 7. 

The operations were led by the Señor Datu Maharlika Eagles Club (SDMEC) in partnership with the Pinagkaisang Bagong Boses ng Mamamayan (PBBM);  Rebtrade International Corporation; Geobrugg Philippines, Inc.; EZ Block Corporation; JarimaKonstrak Corporation, and MIT CE-EnSE Alumni Association Inc.

SDMEC president Noel Castillo, together with PBBM officials Angela Guzman, LJ Panganiban, and Sherwin Castillo conducted the series of relief operations in nine barangays in the three towns of Bulacan that had been severely affected by the widespread flooding caused by Typhoons Egay and Falcon. 

The organizations distributed canned goods, rice, coffee, milk, blankets, among others.

In Balagtas town, the groups reached out to the residents of Borol 2nd in Patubig and in Santol Village. 

Subsequently, the team extended their assistance to the City of Malolos, providing aid to residents of barangays San Vicente, Balayong, San Gabriel, and Panasahan.

In the final leg of their mission, the relief operations reached the town of Calumpit, where the barangays of Poblacion, Caniogan, and Iba O’ Este also received much-needed food packs. 

Angela Guzman of PBBM said: "We conducted this relief operation to provide assistance to our fellow countrymen who are currently experiencing flooding in Bulacan,  knowing that our friends and people close to us are among those affected," she added.

Guzman said their goal is to provide additional support to affected residents while the flooding persists.
