CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Four persons drowned in Pangasinan on Sunday, August 6.
Police identified the victims as Raymund Carino Ramos, 33, farmer; Raymund’s son Prince, 12; and Raymund’s nephew Rayvie Lloyd, residents of Barangay Moreno, Binalonan, and Darren Wendel Faro Arciaga, 13, student, of Barangay Pindangan East, Alcala.
The Ramos family was having a picnic when Prince and Rayvie decided to swim on the Alibeng River in Binalonan.
However, they were dragged by the strong river current. Raymund jumped in to rescue them but they all drowned.
Rescuers retrieved the victims and were taken to the hospital where they were declared dead.
Arciaga and his classmates decided to swim in a creek in Barangay Pindangan East but he was dragged by the strong current.
Rescuers recovered the victim at about 5:55 p.m. and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
