The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) health caravan held a medical mission in Angono, Rizal that provided essential services to 600 individuals.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Aug. 5, PRC said that the event was organized by the PRC in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Rizal, Rotary International, and Latter Day Saint Charities, extending medical assistance from various barangays in Rizal.
The health caravan offers free health consultation, medicines, health lectures, hygiene kits, vision, hearing, mobility, cancer screening, laboratory tests, Pneumonia vaccination, and dental services.
The beneficiaries were senior citizens, mothers, children, and persons with disabilities.
Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang explained that the eyeglasses and wheelchairs that will be distributed are customized to meet each individual’s specific needs.
She also highlighted that this outreach enhances physical comfort and contributes to an improved “quality of life.”
The PRC Health Caravan project aims to bring medical aid close to people residing in the most vulnerable communities.
Moreover, it provides a platform for medical professionals, including nurses and doctors, to volunteer their time and service expertise while gaining valuable experiences and insights from working with diverse communities. (Rhowen Del Rosario)
