Korean drama ‘King the Land’ ends with its highest ratings


The Korean drama “King the Land,” starring  Lee Junho and Yoona, aired its final episode on Aug. 6, garnering the show’s highest ratings in South Korea. 

According to polling firm Nielsen Korea, “King the Land” episode 16 received ratings of 13.789 percent (first place) nationwide and 14.534 percent (first place) in the metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon).

The 13.789 percent is the drama’s highest nationwide rating, up by 1.846 percentage points from 11.943 percent for episode 15 on Aug. 5. 

This placed “King the Land” at No. 21 on the list of Korean dramas with the highest ratings on cable TV. 

Episode 16 was watched by 3.4 million people nationwide in South Korea. 

The 14.534 percent rating of “King the Land” episode 16 in the metropolitan area is also the highest for the drama, up by 0.951 percentage point from 13.583 percent for episode 15. 

Episode 16 was watched by 1.71 million people in the metropolitan area in South Korea. 

Nielsen Korea weekly ratings also showed “King the Land’ landing in first place from July 31 to Aug. 6. 

In the weekly ratings among shows on the comprehensive programming channels, “King the Land” got 12.586 percent nationwide and 14.053 percent in the metropolitan area.
