Drunk cop opens fire at 3 men in Iloilo City; police chief orders probe


ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) chief, has ordered an investigation against a drunk police officer for allegedly taunting three young men and firing his weapon late Saturday night, August 5, in Jaro District here.


The Jaro Police Station said the suspect, Nico Galvesolo, 38, was on his way home in Barangay Buntatala when he came across the three young men.
 

Galvesolo pointed a gun at 19-year-old Joshua Celiz, 20-year-old Joel Zepeda, and 21-year-old Kevin Lee Jaboneta.
 

He then fired his weapon on the ground.  Galvesolo fled but surrendered later.
 

The suspect’s unit has not been disclosed.
 

Galvesolo faces charges of grave threat and indiscriminate firing, Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said.
 

Sangrines said the ICPO Internal Affairs Service will conduct an independent investigation on Galvesolo.
