Former National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos misses the defunct "Kapamilya" network, ABS-CBN, if her Facebook post Sunday, Aug. 6 is any indication.
The political scientist and academic misses the network not for its entertainment programming, but for its comprehensive disaster coverages.
Carlos also tipped her hat to the brave reporters of the network who made such coverages possible.
"For any event/ disaster, my default is ABS/CBN 24/7 coverage of reporters who risked their lives to bring us up to speed...alas! All gone now...," the professor wrote in her post.
The northern part of the country was recently pounded by Super Typhoon "Egay".
ABS-CBN has been off the air for over three years now.
On July 10, 2020, House Committee on Legislative Franchises ultimately voted 70–11 to reject the franchise renewal application of the television and radio giant. Several congressmen citing alleged violations on the part of the network as reason for their rejection.
Carlos, 76, is currently House Speaker Martin Romualdez's chief policy adviser on security and defense concerns.
