P1-M shabu seized in Quezon drug bust

CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City, Quezon – Suspected shabu worth P1 million was seized from a train mechanic and van driver in a buy-bust operation on Friday afternoon, August 4, in Purok 1, Barangay 3, this city.

Police identified the suspects as Edison Villegas, alias “Edwin,” single, 40, of Barangay Isabang, here, and Francisco Ureta, alias “Acal,” 62, a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan, Mauban, Quezon.

Quezon police chief Police Col. Ledon Monte said the two suspects listed as street-level individuals (SLI) yielded 11 sachets of with an estimated weight of 52.1 grams and street value of P1,062,840, cellphones, van with license plates NDC2403, and marked money.

Police conducted the anti-illegal drug operation based on a validated report from residents regarding the suspects’ activities.

"With the continuous arrests and unceasing commitment of our operatives to prevent the spread of illegal drugs, the evil-doers have fewer opportunities to continue their illegal activities," said Monte.
