P8.8-M shabu seized in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – A kilo of suspected shabu worth P8,840,000 was seized by police from three high-value individuals in a buy-bust operation in Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Thursday, August 3. Arrested were Gycelle Bonagua, 31, of Angeles City, Pampanga; and her alleged cohorts Michael Ramos, 43, of Antipolo City, Rizal; and Rizald Lapag, 33, of Barangay 4 here. Police Capt. Melvin Mercado, head of Police Station 8, said they conducted a one week-monitoring on the suspects who were renting a house in Barangay Singcang-Airport. Mercado said that Bonagua, an alleged member of a drug group, is the subject of the operation. Recovered from them were the P99,000 boodle money, weighing scale, and a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing five bullets reportedly owned by Lapag. Mercado said they were able to intercept the illegal drugs before its disposal in the community. He said they are checking the background of the suspects to determine if they have previous cases and check the source of the illegal drugs.
