Iloilo prov'l government probing employee nabbed in buy-bust

ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo Provincial Capitol is investigating a provincial government employee arrested in a buy-bust operation last month.

Arthur Defensor Jr. has issued Executive Order No. 2023-243 creating a fact-finding committee to conduct an  administrative investigation on Jojerick “Chong” Bisnar, an administrative aide at the Iloilo Provincial Budget Office. Bisnar, 42, was arrested by the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO) on July 26 after he sold P5,000 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in a boarding house in Barangay Lapuz. “We are going to look at his administrative liability. Because he’s a government employee,” Defensor said. Defensor explained that the probe has guidelines as prescribed by civil service procedures. The fact-finding-committee is chaired by lawyer Mae Therese Albacete of the Iloilo Provincial Legal Office with Mariane Castillo of the Human Resource Management Office and Joel Lego of the Security Services as members. The Defensor administration is looking into conducting a random drug test among employees of the Iloilo provincial government.
