Through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the government of Bulacan alerted the residents to be cautious on waterborne diseases, influenza, leptospirosis, and dengue.

The PHO said that these diseases are frequently acquired through a dirty environment, improper hygiene, weak immune system, and improper preparation of food.

Fernando believed that information dissemination is a crucial step to heighten the knowledge of the Bulakenyos so that they can avoid getting sick during the   flooding season.

He advised the parents not allow the children to swim in the flood, and urged the residents to avoid walking along flooded roads, or wear boots if it can not be avoided.

The governor also urged residents to consult a physician right away or visit the nearest Rural Health Unit if they experience symptoms of the said diseases.
