On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Australian mentor was revealed to have taken the helm at the Perth Glory FC in A-League also two days since the announcement of his leaving along with assistant coach Nahuel Arrarte.

While the members had no heads-up of Stajcic’s decision, Quezada doesn’t think it would have made a difference especially not while the Philippines was still reeling from their knockout defeat against 1995 winner Norway.

“I don’t think it was quite necessary for him to like let us know then and there,” Quezada said.

As Stajcic sees himself out, the most-goal scored Filipinas member is keeping faith in the intact team moving forward.

“Obviously, Alen and his staff was like a huge part of us. But we still have our own entire team. We still have our core and our core values, everything. So, we’re excited for who our new coach will be and we’re just excited to move forward,” Quezada said during the Filipinas’ homecoming event at sponsor Adidas’ brand center in Makati, City on the same day.

Like the rest of the nation that just taken its first football ride at the world stage, the Nationals have also yet to find out who will be calling the shots when the team resumes training and prepare for the upcoming 2022 Asian Games set in Hangzhou, China this September.

As the wait begins, almost everyone in the Filipinas World Cup-lineup is looking to answer the call-up from the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

“I hope all of us are available,” she concluded.
