Cong Duterte shows support for Davao mayor's mass wedding event, sends over son

What are brothers for? Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo Duterte showed his support for his younger brother Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte's recent mass wedding event dubbed “Kasalan ng Barangay 2023,” by sending over his son, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II. The mass wedding, which Mayor Duterte administered, took place at Mikos Place in Barangay Pua, Davao. A total of 50 couples ended up exchanging "I do's". “Wishing the newly wedded couples a joyful celebration and an unending love and happiness as husband and wife,” Duterte II said on behalf of his congressman-father, who at that time was attending to official matters. The namesake of the former Philippine president also thanked Barangay Bago Gallera chief Chelo Cañares for inviting them to take part in the special occasion. “Of course, we should also thank our city mayor, who is the most important figure today, because, without him, the wedding preparations will not proceed as it is,” Duterte II said of his uncle. Mayor Duterte, on his part, expressed his appreciation for the collective efforts of everyone involved in making the mass wedding a uccess. Duterte II gave a gift to each of the couples that tied the knot. Rep. Duterte’s office and the city government of Davao congratulated the newlyweds and expressed their best wishes to them.
