A new Property Living

EDITORS DESK

Honoring sustainability champions

Allow me to introduce to you Manila Bulletin’s Property Living section.  This is the section where homes, buildings, interior design, furniture, home appliances, etc. are featured in print (every Sunday, starting Aug. 6, 2023), online (via mb.com.ph/category/property-living), and on social media (on Facebook and TikTok).

No, this is not a new section per se, as it has always been a part of the paper. From the ‘90s when it started as “Real Estate & Construction” section edited by Pinky Colmenares, now the Manila Bulletin’s Executive Editor. That section reflected the boom in the construction at that time, marked by the birth of the central business districts (CBDs). Then, in around 2010, it transitioned as “Space” section also under Ma’am Pinky; this time to reflect the emergence of themed communities and the demand for leisure properties. In 2018, it became “Property” to cover the entire spectrum of the property industry.  The move to make it “Property Living” reflects the significant influence of how properties of all shapes and sizes have the capacity to also influence or dictate how we live, work/ study, play, or even rest.

To reflect the new Property Living, my team has come up with an array of content, catering to various aspects of the property industry. Here’s a glimpse of what we have in store:

  1. Property projects: From sprawling townships and vibrant communities to luxurious high-rises and cozy homes, we will showcase an extensive range of property projects.
  2. Personality features: We will talk and engage with industry heads and innovators, providing valuable insights and perspectives to our readers who may be curious why a certain development was built or why a home was designed in such a way.
  3. Architecture and design: This will highlight outstanding architectural projects and innovative designs, plus the brands behind them.
  4. Furniture and kitchenware: The world of furniture and kitchenware is so vast, and the artistry of the Filipino artisan is so extensive that we know there are so many stories to tell.
  5. Renovations/DIY: Who doesn’t love renovation and do-it-yourself success stories? There are several ways to make a house a home, and we will endeavor to inspire you and encourage you to start that home or interior project.
  6. Property trends, news, and promotions: We will keep our readers updated with the latest trends and news in the property sector.
  7. Smart home technology: With the rise of smart homes, this segment will capture the attention of tech-savvy individuals seeking the latest innovations for their living spaces.
These are just some of the stories we have planned that will be read in our print edition and online platforms. Our TikTok page features videos of projects, showrooms, events, and a lot more content.

I hope that you will find Property Living’s content vital for your everyday living, whether you are finding your first home, searching for an interior designer, looking for DIY tips, or simply interested in the world of real estate. Make Property Living your “home.”

I look forward to your readership and support as we produce more relevant content, features, and personality profiles in the coming months.
