VP Duterte opens AFP Mobile E-Learning Hub for peace-building

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte lauded the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for its Mobile E-Learning Hub Project as it is expected to boost the armed forces’ peace-building and developmental initiatives.

The official said the learners in far-flung areas will have access to education with this project.
“Magkakaroon na kayo (learners) ng pagkakataon na magkaroon ng kaalaman hinggil sa information and communications technology sa pamamagitan ng (You will have an opportunity to have knowledge about information and communications technology through) Mobile E-Learning Hub Project ng (of the) Armed Forces of the Philippines,” she said in a Facebook post on Thursday, Aug. 31.
The program was launched the other day in Lahug, Cebu City.
The Mobile E-Learning Hub, which is a customized container van that can be likened to a computer shop on wheels, will be brought by the AFP to communities for their peace-building and developmental activities.
“Sa pamamagitan ng Mobile E-Learning Hub, magiging bahagi na ng mga aktibidad ng AFP ang promosyon ng edukasyon at digital training ng mga kabataan (Through the Mobile E-Learning Hub, part of the AFP’s activities would be the promotion of education and digital training of the youth),” Duterte said.
“Naging posible ang proyektong ito sa pamamagitan ng pakikipagtulungan ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno at pribadong sektor (This project became possible through the cooperation of different government agencies and the private sector),” she added.
One of the thrusts of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) MATATAG Agenda, the Vice President, who is also the concurrent education chief, said is the strengthening of the shared responsibilities of the public and private sectors in the field of education.
