Mayor Rafael Lito Tanjuatco and Vice Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco led local officials in turning over 10 brand new ambulances to 10 village leaders during a ceremony held outside the municipal hall earlier this week.
The recipients of the emergency vehicles are Barangays San Isidro, Pinagkamaligan, Mag-ampon, Tabing Ilog, Tinucan, Cayabu, Sto. Nino, Sta. Ines, Mamuyao, and Laiban. Among the 10 villages, six are located in the upland areas of the town.
With the distribution of the 10 new ambulances, all the 20 villages in the town now have their own ambulance, a vehicle that is a necessity especially for upland areas far from hospitals.
Each ambulance is equipped with an oxygen tank, emergency kit, fire extinguisher, stretcher, blood pressure apparatus and other medical emergency equipment, according to Joicee Gapido of the Office of the Mayor.
During the turn-over ceremony held on August 30, the village leaders thanked the municipal government for the vehicles as most of the villagers in the remote areas who need emergency vehicles would have to wait for the ambulances coming from the town proper or nearest barangay.
