In line with the celebration of National Lung Month and Family Planning Month, the Navotas City government conducted a health caravan at Navotas Sports Complex on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Navoteños received free health services such as X-ray, family planning, adult lifestyle-related disorder screening, mental health assessment, brief tobacco intervention, HIV screening, and dental treatment.
According to the LGU, the residents who participated in the event received free medicines and vitamins. They registered to PhilHealth Konsulta, the comprehensive outpatient benefit under the Universal Health Care Law.
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco encouraged his constituents to undergo a regular medical checkup to detect and treat diseases early.
“Health care has always been one of our priorities. As such, we endeavor to make health services more accessible to our citizens,” Mayor Tiangco said.
“Let us make it a habit to regularly visit our health care facilities and take advantage of the free services they offer. Do not wait until your condition gets worse,” he added.
Tiangco also advised the participants to have a healthy lifestyle through healthy diet and regular exercise.
Meanwhile, the Navotas City Hospital was acknowledged by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) as one of the top performing health care institutions in terms of lowest count of Return-To-Hospital (RTH) or denied claims for the year 2022.
The city also received a silver award in the Department of Health's Race to End TB Annual Awards.
