MPD inspects UST in preparation for 2023 bar examinations

The Manila Police District (MPD) conducted an inspection of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) campus in Sampaloc, Manila, on Wednesday, Aug. 30, in preparation for this year’s bar examination slated in September.
The Supreme Court (SC) selected UST last July as one of the six testing venues in Metro Manila. The bar examinations are scheduled on Sept. 17, 20, and 24.
The MPD, together with the management of UST and SC, checked the facilities to ensure that everything was in order. They also inspected the gates of the university and the foot traffic inside the campus.
They also discussed the level of security that will be implemented on the days of the examination.
"Para maiwasan din natin yung pagpasok ng mga unauthorized person doon sa bar examination area (so that we can also prevent unauthorized persons from entering the bar examination area)," Maj. Herminio Olivares said.
"Magkakaroon po tayo ng designated area kung saan allowed ang mga bar examinees sa loob at labas ng UST (We will have a designated area where bar examinees are allowed to stay inside and outside UST)," he added.
Olivares also said they will conduct a perimeter security to monitor and control the traffic situation.
He said some roads near the university will be closed.
A dry run will also be held in the coming days, where all security procedures will be performed.
