Mom, 2 kids hacked to death in Catbalogan City

TACLOBAN CITY – A mother and her two children were hacked to death in a farm in Barangay Pupua, Catbalogan City, Samar, on Wednesday, August 30.

Police identified the victims as Rea Oreo, 26; her three-year-old daughter, and her five-month-old son.

Victims were found bathing in their own blood by Edito Candiz, common-law husband of Oreo and the father of the children in front of their house which was 200 meters away from the main road.

Initial investigation disclosed that Oreo and her children sustained hack wounds.

Victims were taken to a local funeral home for post-mortem examination.

Authorities are tracking the still unidentified perpetrators. Motive of the incident remains unknown.
