Golden State hotshot Klay Thompson visited Manila for the first time to launch Anta’s KT9 at the Fashion Hall inside SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, Aug. 31.

The four-time NBA champion arrived Wednesday night with teammate Kevon Looney for a three-day trip which also includes a meet-and-greet with Filipinos at the Shock the Game finals on Friday.

ANTA Philippines General Manager JP Paglinawan said Thompson’s presence will surely inspire his fans in this basketball-crazy nation.

“It’s the first time for Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney to visit the Philippines,” said Paglinawan. "And it’s very important for us to bring Klay here to meet his Filipino followers, who are the world’s most passionate basketball fans.

ANTA also highlights the importance of developing grassroots talents by giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills in a four-by-four basketball setting.

The sweet-shooting Thompson is one of the ANTA’s shoe ambassadors, among them are Alex Caruso, Terrence Mann, Gordon Hayward and Gilas Pilipinas’ Jordan Clarkson.

Clarkson, who is now currently playing for the Nationals, was always seen wearing his ANTA shoes during his Gilas Pilipinas games at the FIBA World Cup.
