Not all couples embrace traditional relationships. Some individuals prefer to do things differently. Actors and sweethearts Jane Oineza and RK Bagatsing have mutually decided against an open relationship.

During an interview at the media conference of their latest movie, "Swing," Jane and RK said they do not believe in an open relationship, defined as having more than one romantic or sexual partner at a time.

"For us, it's a personal choice na hindi kami para doon. Noong ginagawa namin ito, pinag-uusapan namin ito kung possible ba ito in the future pero hindi talaga eh," said Jane, when asked about her thoughts on open relationships.

(For us, it's a personal choice not to embrace an open relationship setup. When we were doing this, we discussed whether it was possible in the future, but it wasn't for us.)

RK added: "Sa amin, we disagree. But that doesn't mean na hindi siya nag-e-exist. It could not work for our setting or culture; it works for others."

It's the second time Jane and RK have worked together in a movie. In "Swing,' the couple went all-out in some scenes that shocked or surprised their fans. It is directed by RC delos Reyes.

Asked why they accepted the project, Jane answered: "I wanted to work with him (RK) again, and if I were going to do a project like this, I'd be lucky to do it with him as well.

"Noong nabasa namin yung script, there were a lot of discussions between us and Star Magic. It was a discussion kung kaya ba naming i-pull off ito. Kapag pinadala sa'yo ang script minsan hindi pa naman yun ang final copy and ang dami pang discussions. But ultimately, kaya kami pumayag is because magkaka-trabaho uli kami. This is something very challenging and we're willing to work again," said RK.

(When we read the script, there were a lot of discussions between us and Star Magic. It was a discussion if we could pull it off. When the script is sent to you, sometimes it is not the final copy, and there are many more discussions. But ultimately, the reason we agreed is because we will work together again. This is something very challenging, and we're willing to work again.)

Jane and RK teamed up for the first time in "Us Again" in 2020. This time, they play a couple with opposing sex appetites and life priorities. An intimacy coach was hired to guide the stars in preparing for the delicate scenes.

"Sa Switzerland, meron kaming intimacy coach to guide us in every scene na merong  daring scenes. Every scene is choreographed. So kung ano lang yung nasa script at kung ano yung napagusapan, yun lang ang gagawin. Para walang gulatan sa set. They set kung ano ang kukunan at ano ang dapat na angles," she said.

(In Switzerland, we have an intimacy coach to guide us in every scene that has daring scenes. Every scene is choreographed. So, only what is in the script and what was discussed is all that will be done. So that no one will be surprised on the set, they tell how to shoot and what the angles should be.)

If the actor feels uncomfortable in any moment, sasabihin sa'yo ng intimacy coach na itigil muna. So walang boundaries na crossed. Everyone's on the same page. There was one day na meron kaming exercises for us to know everyone for the sensuality scenes."

(The intimacy coach is also on set, so if you have something to do during sex scenes, he will go through it. If the actor feels uncomfortable at any moment, the intimacy coach will tell you to stop first. So, no boundaries are crossed. Everyone's on the same page. One day, we had exercises to get to know everyone for the sensuality scenes.)

Jane and RK also said they did not have an ocular on sex bars while filming the movie in Switzerland.

"It exists pero wala kaming napuntahan na ganun. It's only in the movies that we created the setting. Sinasabi nga ng mga friends namin, 'Why Switzerland? It's so quiet here?' Sobrang laidback sa Switzerland," he said.

(It exists, but we have yet to go to anything like that. It's only in the movies that we created the setting. Our friends say, 'Why Switzerland? It's so quiet here?' It's also very laid back in Switzerland.)

What is their experience like when they watch each other perform daring scenes together?

"Expected naman kasi na meron kasi nabasa ko na rin ang script so prepared naman ako na ganun ang gagawin namin," said Jane. (It's expected that there will be something like that because I've read the script so I'm prepared.)

RK added: "Nagdadasal nga ako e habang pinapanood ko. At the end of the day, it's all work regardless kung meron kaming love scenes. I cannot say na hindi kami naaapektuhan kasi tao lang naman kami like konting selos pero ine-explain namin sa isa't isa."

(I do pray while I watch it. At the end of the day, it's all work regardless if we have love scenes. I cannot say we are not affected because we are only human, like a little jealous, but we explain to each other about our scenes.)

The movie also received praise for the acting performances by Jane and RK, which left a lasting impression on the moviegoers.

Asked to comment on the praises of their fans for the latest movie, Jane said: "The guidance of our director made us feel very comfortable. As RK said, we prepared before we accepted the project. We discussed the expectations of our characters and responsibilities before we even accepted them. Para pagtapak sa set, clear na lahat. Ayoko naman tumanggap ng project na limited lang ang kaya kong ibigay."

RK also said: "Kami ang nakikita ninyo sa screen but there's a team collaborating for the project. Humingi talaga kami ng tulong sa Star Magic." (You see us on the screen, but there's a team collaborating on the project. We asked for help from Star Magic.)

Believing in marriage

Although they both believe in marriage, it is not their top priority.

"Right now, we're maximizing the opportunity we're having—proud ako sa mga accomplishments and opportunities that are coming," she said.

"Alam kasi namin yung journey sa isa't isa. Sobrang pinagdasal namin at pinagtrabahuhan namin. Right now Jane has so many shows. So parang nasa backseat lang muna ang usapan na yun. Someday siguro we'll talk about it. But for now I'm so proud of her. Ang dami na niyang accomplishments," added RK.

"Swing" is produced by Mavx Productions, which is slowly getting a reputation as a relatively new film outfit with vision. Consider its film outputs -- "Pangarap Kong Holdap," "Faraway Land," "Unravel," "Doll House," "Pangarap Kong Oskars," etc.
