Flood victims from Calumpit, Bulacan get food packs


Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro led in the distribution of food packs to flood victims in Calumpit, Bulacan on Wednesday, Aug. 30. 

The food packs were given to the remaining families affected by the massive flooding brought about by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoons Egay and Falcon that hit the province in July.

Fernando and Castro, with Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head Rowena J. Tiongson, Mayor Lem Faustino, Vice Mayor Zar Candelaria, and Board members Allan Andan and Mina Fermin started the distribution in Barangay Buguion wherein 1,542 food packs were turned over.

The next distribution was held in Barangays Sergio Bayan, Palimbang, Iba Este, Caniogan, Sto Nino, and Pungo wherein over 10,000 food packs were distributed.


Fernando and Castro completed the distribution of the relief, together with the PSWDO, in seven other villages in Calumpit.
