The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has achieved a remarkable feat by completely resolving all complaints it received in the first half of the year, resulting in a significant reduction in corruption and bureaucratic delays.

This notable accomplishment was highlighted in a report from the 8888 Citizens Complaint Center under the Office of the President.

Visibly elated, BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr., pledged to continue addressing the intertwined issues of corruption and red tape to enhance the professionalism of their services and better assist taxpayers.

During this period, the BIR addressed a total of 734 concerns raised by citizens, successfully resolving them all within the mandated 72-hour time frame.

The presidential complaints center emphasized that these achievements translate to a perfect compliance rate within the 72-hour period and a complete resolution of all referred concerns within the same time frame.

Impressed by the BIR's performance, Bernadette B. Casinabe, the head of the Malacanang complaint office, expressed anticipation for an ongoing collaboration in combating bureaucratic delays and corruption while also aiming for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency in government service delivery.
