When she is done with Kapamilya series "Senior High," Andrea Brillantes will enter the comedy arena as she joins Prime Video's "Comedy Island Philippines."

During the show's press conference at the Teatrino in Greenhills on Aug. 30, Andrea mentioned that she grew up watching shows like "Survivor." Her upcoming show, "Comedy Island Philippines," is an opportunity for her to demonstrate her comedic abilities and fulfill her potential as a comedian.

"Sobrang akong naexcite, kaya sabi ko baka ito na yung chance ko na maipakita na may skills ako ganun, feeling ko kasi may potential ako maging comedian, baka dito ko na din mailabas.  Lahat kasi sila magaling magpatawa, siyempre kailangan i-balance, 'yung ambag ko cuteness na lang, tsaka nakakapagod maging drama actress," she said.

( was very excited, so I said maybe this is my chance to show that I have such skills. I have the potential to be a comedian. I could bring it out here. They're all good at making people laugh, of course, there's a need for balance. My contribution is just cuteness; besides, being a drama actress is tiring.)

Joining Andrea on the show are Carlo Aquino, Drew Arellano, Cai Cortez, and TikTok creator Justine Luzares. Their co-stars, Jerald Napoles and Rufa Mae Quinto, couldn't attend the event.

Andrea's close friend and co-star, Awra Briguela, couldn't make it to the mediacon. It was recently reported that he filed charges against Mark Christian Ravana, the person Awra had a fight with in a bar in Poblacion, Makati City.

According to DZBB, Awra filed the case at the Makati City Prosecutor's Office, and a preliminary investigation was conducted.

"Comedy Island Philippines" is a hybrid reality series that ingeniously blends comedy and adventure, scripted and unscripted formats, and planned and improvisational scenes. This means that some parts of the show are scripted, while other parts are purely up to the cast's creativity and humor, taking viewers on a unique and fun viewing experience.

As they strive to survive in the mysterious Tawa-Tawa Island by playing in the island's exhilarating so-called centennial games, viewers will be treated to the cast's funny antics, hilarious bloopers, and unpredictable experiences. The six-part series will run for two weeks, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 7, with three episodes streaming each week.
