2 suspects arrested, P782,000 illegal drugs seized in Pasig buy-busts
Police seized a total of P782,000 worth of suspected shabu and high-grade marijuana or kush in separate buy-bust operations, leading to the arrest of two men on Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, in Pasig City.
Pasig City chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. identified the suspects as "Joel," 49, classified as a high-value individual (HVI); and "Bugoy," 21.
According to the police, a joint operation with the Eastern Police District (EPD) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was held to arrest Joel at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Police seized 100 grams of alleged shabu and 2.5 grams of kush, both with a total market value of P680,000.
Meanwhile, Bugoy was arrested at around 10 p.m. on Aug. 30 in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, after surveillance activities were conducted on the suspect.
Around 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000 was confiscated, as well as two pieces of P100 bill, and seven pieces of P1,000 bill used as boodle money.
The suspects are detained at the Pasig City custodial facility, facing charges of illegal sale and possession of drugs under Republic Act 9165.
