'Voltes V: Legacy' stars grace costumes exhibit at Eastwood City

The stars of the high-rating primetime series “Voltes V: Legacy” have volt in for the display of their iconic costumes at Eastwood City.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony happened at the Eastwood Mall Atrium last Aug. 25, which was made even more special by the presence of Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Raphael Landicho, and Matt Lozano, together with Liezel Lopez. 

Miguel expressed his excitement for the avid fans to see their highly-budgeted flight suits up close, “Iba ‘yung feeling as a fan na makikita mo nang personal ‘yung mga costume sa palabas na sinusubaybayan mo. Ganun ‘yung naramdaman ko nung nakakita ako ng costumes sa San Diego Comic-Con.”

Ysabel, on the other hand, feels proud of the people behind their magnificent suits, “Happy ako na ma-showcase ang costume design ng show kasi most of the time ang naha-highlight is ‘yung CGI at kaming cast. Pero hindi nila alam ‘yung gravity ng hard work behind the camera. So this is a spotlight on another element of the production.”

Moreover, Radson reiterated that “Voltes V: Legacy” is a huge blessing for him, “Grateful ako na naging parte ako ng big show na ito. Bukod sa anime fan ako, gusto ko ring makita ng mga Pilipino kung ano ang kaya nating gawin at ma-showcase ang talents natin sa iba’t ibang bansa.” 

Raphael also highlighted the Pinoy Pride brought by their show, “Sobrang proud po talaga kami kasi noong araw raw po sikat na sikat ang Voltes V anime. ‘Yung fans noon, mas lalong na-appreciate ang “Voltes V: Legacy” dahil naibalik namin ‘yung memories nila. Pero this time, live action na.” 

Meanwhile, Matt teased the viewers on what to expect as the series nears its ultra electro magnetic finale! According to him, “Marami pang surprises na dapat abangan. Matutuwa sila kasi may surprise si Direk Mark para sa totoong fans ng Voltes V. Wala siya sa anime pero alam ng fans ‘yon. Believe me, magugulat kayo!”

Liezel also thanked the diehard and new generation fans of the live-action adaptation, “Sana natuwa kayo, naiyak, kinilig, at lahat ng emotions na na-feel namin sana naramdaman din ninyo. Salamat sa mga nagmahal, nagalit, at nainis kay Zandra, Zardoz, at sa lahat ng Boazanians. Sana samahan ninyo kami hanggang huli dahil part po kayo ng legacy namin.”

Said exhibit is a partnership between GMA Network, Eastwood City, and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls that aims to honor the evolving culture of Filipinos and recognize artists in the country.

The exemplary costumes from “Voltes V: Legacy” are displayed at the Mall Cinema, while the notable outfits from “Maria Clara at Ibarra” are also shown at the Mall Atrium until Aug. 31. 

Eastwood City chose the ensemble of the two programs because of the phenomenal connection of “Maria Clara at Ibarra” with all generations and the historical Filipino production of “Voltes V: Legacy.”
