PH records 801 new Covid-19 cases from Aug. 21 to 27 — DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) said on Tuesday, Aug. 29 that the country had recorded 801 additional Covid-19 cases from Aug. 21 to 27.

It noted that the average number of new cases per day this week was at 114, which is 2 percent higher compared to the cases from Aug. 14 to 20.

DOH said 13 of the new cases were in serious or critical condition.

Meanwhile, six deaths were reported between Aug. 14 and 27.

DOH also said that more than 78 million individuals or 100.44 percent of its target population have been vaccinated against Covid-19, while 23 million individuals have already received their booster shots.

On the other hand, 7.1 million senior citizens or 82.16 percent of the target A2 population have already received their primary series. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
