BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-four earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Wednesday morning, August 30.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was registered at 4 a.m. and its epicenter was only 10 kilometers northeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.
The tremor had a depth of 169 kms, Phivolcs said.
No damage or injuries are expected from the tremor.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported no damage or injury from the earthquake.
The day before, a magnitude-5.5 earthquake also rocked Davao Occidental.
The tremor was recorded at 1:59 a.m. and its epicenter was 214 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental and had a depth of 40 kms.
No damage or injuries were also reported from this tectonic earthquake.
