Korean series 'Mask Girl' rises to No. 1 spot; 'Destined with You' debuts on Netflix's Global Top 10

The Korean series “Mask Girl,” starring, Lee Han-byeol, Nana, Go Hyun-jung and Ahn Jae-hong, rose to No. 1 in its second week on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list of the most watched shows and films on the streaming platform. 

“Mask Girl,” released on Netflix on Aug. 18, topped the non-English TV list for Aug. 21 to 27 with 7.4 million views. It debuted at No. 2 on the Netflix Global Top 10 list for Aug. 14 to 20 with 2.8 million views.

The Korean series is in the top 10 in 72 countries and regions including the Philippines, Canada, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam. 

Netflix now ranks titles by total views from the previous total hours viewed. 

The Korean romantic comedy “Destined with You,” starring actress Jo Bo-ah and K-pop boy band SF9 member Rowoon, debuted at No. 4 on the Global Top 10 with 3.5 million views.

On the English TV list, “Who is Erin Carter?,” about a British school teacher living in Spain, debuted at No. 1 with 13.2 million views  The documentary series “Depp V. Heard” placed second with 8.3 million views.  

The animated movie “The Monkey King” took the No. 1 spot on the English films list in its second week on the chart with 14.4 million views. 

“Heart of Stone, “ starring Gal Gadot, Jame Dornan and Alia Bhatt, placed second with 13.6 million views. 

The Brazilian documentary “A Life Too Short: The Isabella Nardoni Case” is No. 1 on the non-English films list with 5.3 million views.
