Utah Jazz players Simone Fontecchio and Jordan Clarkson exchanged pleasantries to one another after the Italy-Philippines game in the 2023 FIBA World Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Fontecchio, who was the topscorer for the Italians, expressed his admiration for Clarkson's game.
“It was great, he’s a hell of a player. He plays hard all the games,” Fontecchio said.
“All the games I saw him were unbelievable. You guys [Filipinos] are lucky to have him,” he added.
Meanwhile, in the press conference Tuesday night, the Fil-American returned the compliment to the Italian forward.
“Simone [is] a really good player, you know, he’s been super cool.” Clarkson said.
“Get to meet him and stuff last year, play on the same team and know what he does. He shoots the ball really well, he’s strong, big. I’m happy to see him succeed these games,”
“Having a strong performance, bringing that to the season and hopefully, when all of us get together in Utah, me, Lauri [Markkanen], everybody’s playing. At Least, we're lucky to have Simone, he’s such a good dude, great competitor,” he added.
