Filipino basketball fans took to social media to express their frustrations on the recent losses of the Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

Last Tuesday evening, Aug. 29, Italy crushed Gilas Pilipinas’ dream of advancing to the next round as the Azzurri beat the Nationals, 90-83, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Filipinos were swept in the group stage after also bowing to the Dominican Republic (87-81) and Angola (80-70).
Fans threw criticisms over the results and vented their ire on head coach Chot Reyes.
Some fans even brought up memes regarding the head coach’s statement “Don’t judge me now, judge me in the World Cup” which was his response to the negative comments against him last year.
“Another learning experience,” wrote one netizen.
“Learning lesson ‘yan as per Coach Choke,” another fan commented.
“Better luck next coach, time to redesign our system, start with the coach,” one fan suggested.
Despite the backlash, some fans extended their support to the Gilas team and the coaching staff as they thanked them for representing the country.
