The Hyundai Accelerate Program (HAP) is described by the city government as an “education-to-work” program that could potentially lead to employment opportunities in Hyundai’s dealer network. Through the MOA, qualified residents will be given scholarships for a year-long training program on Automotive Technology at the Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati. Scholars who will successfully finish the program may also be given the chance to work in Hyundai. The scholarship covers the scholars’ tuition and other fees, as well as certification fees for the one year training period. The Pasig local government has teamed up with various private and public entities for scholarship programs in various fields of study. One of which was the Meralco-Pasig Medical Scholarship Grant, offered through its partnership with the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health and the One Meralco Foundation (OMF). Only five scholars were chosen for medical scholarship, where they would be able to earn a double degree in Doctor of Medicine and Master in Business Administration at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), to be completed within five years. The medical scholarship covered all school expenses, including tuition fees, doctor’s tools and equipment, laptop; and internet are covered by the grant. The local government also has its own Pasig City Scholarship Program (PCSP) for public school students, and the newly approved Private Education for the Advancement of the Grassroots through Academic Scholarship Assistance (PAGASA) scholarship program for private higher education institutions (HEIs).
