Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano personally hands over the cash gift to Pasay City's new centenarian as well as the Letter of Felicitation from President Marcos.

Lola Caridad was born on March 10, 1923. One of her children, Lydia, shared that when they were young, their mother Caridad trained them to eat vegetables. They only got to eat meat on weekends or if there was a special occasion.

Rubiano said Republic Act No. 10868 or the Centenarian Act of 2016 mandates the provision of giving cash gift of P100,000 to Filipino centenarians. It was sponsored by Senator Ramon “Bong" Revilla.

She said another centenarian is also set to receive a P100,0000 cash gift.

Aside from her daily diet of green, leafy vegetables like malunggay, Lola Caridad also has a happy disposition and is known in her neighborhood as "everyone's lola" (a grandmother to all).
