Bulacan solon's quick response: Meets with DPWH on flood mitigation in the province

Bulacan First District Representative Danilo A. Domingo responded quickly to the appeal made by Governor Daniel R. Fernando for a solution to the province's perennial flooding problem by meeting with the 1st District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) headed by District Engineer Henry C. Alcantara on Thursday, August 3. The meeting was also attended by the Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office division chiefs, and Engineer Glenn D. Reyes of the Provincial Engineering Office to address the widespread flooding in the 1st District of Bulacan. They discussed the cleaning of drainage canals and identified locations for flood gates and pumping stations in the different towns of the District to immediately alleviate the flooding problem. Domgingo had earlier committed to construct floodgates and pumping stations. Last August 31, Domingo also attended the Technical Working Group Meeting of the House Committee on Public Works and Highways so they could draft the necessary law to solve the flooding in the province. It was learned that on December 2022, Domingo, with lawmakers Augustina Dominique C. Pancho and Lorna Silverio submitted House Resolution No. 614 seeking to give priority to Immediate and comprehensive solutions to the decades-old flooding problem in Bulacan, particularly in view of the imminent opening of the New Manila International Airport in Bulakan town.
